General Information

Annual membership with BCAEM is open to:

  • Specialists in emergency management (practitioners),
  • First responders (police, fire, ambulance or other medical personnel)
  • Occupational health and safety workers,
  • Business continuity specialists,
  • Elected officials,
  • Emergency program volunteers, and
  • Students in an emergency management affiliated program.

Benefits

Membership provides an opportunity to become more aware of the world of emergency management.

  • Join a working group of individuals who share the same interests as you
  • Participate in information seminars on current issues
  • Develop professional contacts internationally through activities organized by the association
  • Access to the Association's website, including reports, files, links, training opportunities, employment opportunities, and other information posted by members, for members
  • Contribute to the emergency management community by writing articles about your experiences for publication on our website

Registration procedure

The membership application process takes place on-line. Please follow the steps below to apply for BCAEM membership:

  1. Complete the on-line application form and submit fees.
    As part of this process, you will need to submit payment of membership fees either on-line (preferred) or by cheque or money order.
  2. Click the link in the e-mail generated from step 1 to confirm your e-mail address.
    Follow any additional directions in the e-mail.

Membership fees

There are two classes of membership: regular members (individuals) and student members. Student members must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary institution and do not have voting rights.
