BC ASSOCIATION OF EMERGENCY MANAGERS TO ADMINISTER EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN BC
April 2, 2009
The British Columbia Association of Emergency Managers (BCAEM) is pleased to announce a new development in the delivery of emergency management training for all residents of the province. As of April 1, 2009, the BCAEM will be sponsoring the popular emergency management training courses formerly sponsored by the Provincial Emergency Program. The BCAEM was awarded funding through the BC Gaming Direct Access Grant Program, and will be assuming the administration of this valuable training program which advances emergency management capacity in all regions of the province.
BCAEM-sponsored emergency management training will be provided to B.C. emergency managers and responders, including: municipal, provincial, and federal staff, First Nations and volunteers. These one and two-day courses support participants’ understanding of important functional areas related to emergency management in their jurisdiction.
Users of the sponsored training will not experience noticeable changes in program availability or delivery in the immediate future. The BCAEM is committed to providing the highest quality training to the emergency management community, and will be examining options for enhanced programming and training opportunities in the future.
The BC Association of Emergency Managers is an association of dedicated professionals whose main purpose is to promote emergency management and represent the interests, aims and opinions of those who are involved in emergency management in the province.
