The BCAEM is pleased to announce it will be hosting the first HOTWASH Emergency Management Moderated Discussion March 30 to April 4.

Jessica Shoubridge will be moderating, she is a planner who has been working on natural hazard risk management and adaptation in BC for 9 years with governments, academia, non-profits and the private sector to bridge gaps between science, policy and action to build community resilience. She led the development of the City of Vancouver’s Earthquake Preparedness Strategy, and is helping develop the Lower Mainland Flood Management Strategy. She is also helping coordinate the upcoming Understanding Risk (UR+) symposium in Victoria and the discussion will provide members an opportunity to learn about, and contribute to this event.

HOTWASH discussions will take place in the BCAEM member forums – EM professionals who are not members are encouraged to join the BCAEM to participate.
